Ando Travel covers more routes than any other operator on this site, from two days in Zagora to four days with a second night at Merzouga. Its three-day tours are the only ones that sell lunch as part of an option, and a desert escort travels with the group besides the driver and the guide. The departure is the same on every tour: 7 am at your hotel or riad.

Pickup and the first day

The van leaves at 7 am. Riads deep in the medina, where a car cannot reach the door, use a meeting point a short walk away. On the three-day tours the first stop of note is Ait Ben Haddou, where the local guide is not included; around Ouarzazate the Atlas Studios are a photo stop from outside. The first night is in a hotel near Kelaat M’Gouna, in an air-conditioned room with a private bathroom.

Camp options and the 4x4

Options 1 and 2 of the round trip sleep in the standard desert camp, option 3 in the luxury camp, which Ando Travel marks as recommended. Standard camp guests ride a camel at sunset and sunrise. Luxury camp guests may take a 4x4 transfer instead, if they ask at least a day before. The tour to Fes sells the same split, standard or luxury, with the lunch option on the standard camp. The listings do not say whether the luxury tents are heated.

Four days and Zagora

The four-day tour adds a night in a desert lodge at Merzouga with its own bathroom and a pool, three breakfasts and three dinners, and the choice of Marrakech (around 8.30 pm) or Fes (around 7 pm) on the last day. It is compared with the other four-day tours on 4-day desert tours. The Zagora trip leaves at 7 am and is back around 6 pm the next day; you sleep in your own tent, with a shared bathroom in the standard camp and a private one in the luxury camp. See Merzouga or Zagora.

Not included, not suitable

Outside the lunch option, lunch and drinks are paid on the road, and tips are extra. All Ando Travel listings here exclude pregnant women. The round trip, the Fes tour and the four-day tour each have a New Year’s Eve option.
